Live In Caretaker / House person Job - Staffordshire - start ASAP - 1 bed flat accommodation - £30,000 to £35,000 GPA

Our client is looking for an experienced candidate to take on a full-time live in role as a Caretaker / House person to look after a large formal property that is used as a private residence as well as a wedding and events venue.

This position involves overseeing the maintenance and general upkeep of the property while also providing assistance and support to the events team or property owners as and when needed.

The ideal candidate will possess a strong combination of maintenance skills, caretaking experience, and a proactive approach to ensuring the smooth operation and maintenance of the property.Duties will include:

  • Caretaking Duties - Provide support and assistance to the events team or property owners as needed, which include opening and closing the house, providing access to contractors and cleaners.
  • Security and Safety - Ensure the security of the property by monitoring for any potential security risks or hazards, and implementing appropriate safety measures.
  • Record Keeping - Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, repairs, and any other relevant information, and report regularly to the Operations Manager or owner.
  • Communication - Maintain open and effective communication with the events office, property management, and external service providers to address any concerns or issues in a timely manner.
  • Housekeeping - Perform light housekeeping duties as needed, such as cleaning common areas, organising spaces, and ensuring cleanliness standards are met.
  • Groundskeeping - Assisting the garden team in maintaining the exterior of the property, including lawn care, snow removal, and seasonal maintenance tasks.
  • Property Maintenance - Perform general maintenance tasks such as repairing of fixtures, painting, DIY and gardening to ensure the property is well-maintained at all times.
  • Emergency Response - Be available to respond promptly to any emergencies or urgent maintenance issues that may arise, including at evenings and weekends.

Qualifications:

  • Previous experience in property maintenance, caretaking, or a related field is preferred.
  • Strong proficiency in various handyperson skills such as carpentry, plumbing, electrical work, and general repairs an advantage
  • Excellent problem-solving abilities and a proactive approach to identifying and addressing maintenance issues.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision, as well as part of a team.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact effectively with residents, property management, and external vendors.
  • Flexible schedule with the ability to respond to emergencies outside of regular business hours.

This will be a full-time role based around 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday with flexibility needed on weekends.

Clean drivers licence and reliable transportation may be required. A shared car is available for work purposes (pool car)
