We are seeking a Technical Consultant to join our client's Construction division’s Professional Wall and Flooring Department. This role involves providing technical support to contractors, distributors, and the sales team, with a focus on site visits, reporting, training, and customer support. The ideal candidate will have excellent interpersonal skills, self-motivation, and time management abilities, along with a background in Wall and Flooring Product Formulation or application. 

Day to Day of the role:
  • Plan and conduct site visits, ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations and using appropriate PPE.
  • Perform moisture testing, complaint analysis, product application trials, and evaluations on site.
  • Produce detailed reports of site visit results to offer product recommendations, using a standardised format.
  • Register and report complaints within the company’s system, conducting follow-up testing as needed.
  • Utilise Salesforce for customer database management.
  • Provide product training for customers and sales teams, both practical and theoretical, including PowerPoint presentations.
  • Support new product development by arranging and reporting on site trials and collaborating with the development team.
  • Communicate directly with a range of contractors and distributors, maintaining a calm demeanour in pressurised situations.
  • The role may require work outside of normal office hours and occasional overnight stays.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
  • A full UK driving licence.
  • Experience and an understanding of commercial flooring applications and installations
  • Strong reporting and analytical skills.
  • Proficiency in using Salesforce and Microsoft Office, especially PowerPoint.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
  • Flexibility to travel, primarily in the North of England and Scotland, and stay overnight as required.
