My client are seeking a dedicated HSE Advisor to act as the subject matter expert on health and safety matters, ensuring compliance with statutory and best practice requirements. The ideal candidate will drive the implementation of policies, promote a positive health and safety culture, and support energy efficiency objectives, including the set target for zero accidents and carbon neutrality by 2030.Day to Day of the role:
  • Serve as the go-to expert on health and safety matters, advising on policy and risk management.
  • Implement and promote HSE policies, create learning resources, and deliver training to enhance compliance and awareness.
  • Foster a positive health and safety culture among staff, contractors, and visitors.
  • Identify and support the implementation of energy-saving measures to achieve energy efficiency targets.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to deliver the Health & Safety Policy, manage risk assessments and controls, and provide technical advice.
  • Manage HSE inductions, awareness, skills matrix, and course bookings.
  • Track HSE action progress, collate, process, and report all HSE data, and use data to identify issues, establish root causes, and recommend business improvements.
  • Conduct HSE audits and investigations, and implement corrective actions.
  • Conduct HSE risk assessments and collaborate on delivering the Environmental, Social, and Governance Policy.
  • Undertake administrative duties and act as a role model for company values and behaviours.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
  • NEBOSH National Diploma in Occupational Health and Safety (essential).
  • IEMA Foundation course in Environmental Management or equivalent (desirable).
  • Experience in current HSE management practices.
  • Ability to conduct risk assessments and investigations.
  • Proficiency in implementing policies and procedures.
  • Skilled in data capture, analysis, and reporting.
  • Knowledge of ISO 45001 – HSMS.
  • Strong communication skills, critical thinking, and a pragmatic approach to challenges.
  • Highly organised with exceptional attention to detail.
