Overview

Highly successful SME Electronics Manufacturing company require experienced Calibration & Test Engineer for a challenging position, based at company head office in Staines upon Thames.

About the role

Reporting to the Chief Technical Officer the Calibration & Test Engineer will be responsible for building and maintaining test gears, test equipment and working with standard laboratory instrumentation. Key duties include:

  • Design and assemble new test gears and test equipment
  • Provide full documentation of test and calibration processes
  • Manage external and in house calibrations to ensure equipment accuracy & reliablity
  • Working with standard laboratory instrumentation including; oscilloscopes and logic analysers
  • Debugging live hardware and resolving issues
  • Electronic testing, fault finding and resolving issues in a timely manner
  • Produce, maintain and document all test procedures
  • Maintain company equipment and keep up to date records in the company asset log
  • Provide support for regulatory compliance of products e.g., RoHS, REACH, CMRT, etc
  • Technical support to ensure products meet regulatory compliance requirements
  • Ongoing support to engineering providing test reports & manufacturing data packs
  • Support production with technical issues and seek prompt resolutions to problems
  • Perform regular reviews and drive improvements to test procedures
  • Keep up-to-date with industry trends & advancements in electronic testing & calibration and identify opportunities for improvements to current practices.

About you

  • Strong knowledge in Electronics and Electrical engineering.
  • Good PC skills including MS Word and Excel
  • Ideally knowledge of Python programming
  • Relevant experience in calibrations and test equipment.
