Role Overview:


We are seeking a skilled Build Inspector to join our client's team in Stevenage on a 12-month contract, with a strong possibility of extension. The role involves assisting Spacecraft Production operators and team leaders in managing non-conformance's, raising Occurrence Reports (ORs), verifying technician training, and having the authority to halt production as needed to ensure quality standards.

Responsibilities:


* Conduct hardware inspections including visual, measurement, and electrical testing.
* Provide technical advice on quality control to the Spacecraft Production team.
* Support operators/technicians in assessing incident severity and making go/no-go decisions.
* Advise and support team leaders on quality matters.
* Review and ensure technical integrity of work instructions and assist in correcting errors.
* Verify quality coverage through Quality Verification Points.
* Perform patrol inspections, including documentation, hardware, and process application checks.
* Maintain workshop standards such as cleanliness and tool calibration.
* Conduct process audits and AIT process spot checks as necessary.

Essential Skills and Experience:

* 2+ years in manufacturing.
* Knowledge of composite/carbon and/or electrical testing.
* Strong attention to detail and reporting skills.
* Proficient with digital tools.
* Adaptable, proactive, and committed to continuous learning.
* Good communication and interpersonal skills.
* Willing to travel and work shifts as needed.

Desirable Qualifications:

* ESA qualification.
* Aerospace apprenticeship.
* 3+ years in aerospace or related industries.
* Science-based or electronics GCSEs.
* Experience with CMM and 3D drawings (Catia).
