We've partnered with a newly established Children's Home in Stevenage and are actively seeking compassionate Senior Support Workers to join their dedicated Social Care team, on either a part-time or full-time temporary-to-permanent basis. In this role, you'll be instrumental in providing vital support to children within a nurturing environment, helping them overcome challenges and preparing them for fulfilling lives ahead.

Responsibilities of a Senior Support Worker:

  • Supporting the Register Manager
  • Overseeing Support Workers, empowering and guiding them in their roles.
  • Oversee day-to-day operations, and safety checks, and maintain a warm, welcoming environment.
  • Accurately complete young people's paperwork and maintain reflective records.
  • Support and encourage children to reach their full potential.
  • Empower young people to develop life and independence skills.
  • Ensure detailed handovers and effective shift plans.
  • Transport young people to education, contact meetings, and activities.
  • Promote and uphold the company ethos, values, and expectations consistently.

Senior Support Worker Specification:

  • Kind, caring, professional, and empathetic, even in challenging situations.
  • Proactive and resourceful, providing personalized support to each young person.
  • Positive outlook, always seeking solutions to difficulties.
  • Reflective about your work and committed to ongoing development.
  • Ideally, possess a minimum of 1 year of experience in a similar environment.
  • Confident driver.
