Job Title: Transport Planner

Working Hours: Monday - Friday 8 am - 6 pm - with (one in every three Saturday: 8 am - 12:00)

Salary: 36,000 per annum

Location: Stevenage, Hertfordshire

Job Type: Full-Time, Permanent position

As a Transport Planner, you will play a crucial role in efficiently managing the routes for our fleet of 25 vehicles, comprising both artic, small vehicles as well as Hiab vehicles. The position requires meticulous route planning, coordination, and communication skills to ensure timely and cost-effective transportation.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan and optimise delivery routes for a fleet of 25 vehicles, including artic and small vehicles.
  • Coordinate with drivers, warehouse staff, and other relevant departments to ensure smooth operations.
  • Monitor and report on transportation KPIs, making recommendations for improvements.
  • Respond promptly to any delays, disruptions, or issues in the transportation process.
  • Collaborate with the team to implement continuous improvement initiatives in the transport department.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience as a Transport Planner in a similar role
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing priorities.
  • Familiarity with compliance and regulatory requirements in the transport industry
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
