We're hiring!Tradewind Recruitment is currently recruiting Learning Support Assistants and Teaching Assistants to work across a range of vibrant and supportive special needs schools in Stockport. These roles offer flexible supply work, long-term placements, and the chance to join a rewarding sector where your care and expertise truly matter.

About the Role:

You will be supporting children and young people with a range of complex needs including autism, physical disabilities, learning difficulties, and medical needs. Your role may include:

  • One-to-one or small group support in the classroom

  • Assisting with personal care routines, including toileting and feeding

  • Administering or supporting with PEG feeding (training provided if needed)

  • Encouraging social and emotional development

  • Helping students to access the curriculum in a meaningful way

What We're Looking For:
  • Previous experience working in an SEN setting (school, residential, care)

  • Comfortable and experienced with personal care tasks

  • Trained or experienced in PEG feeding (or willingness to undergo training)

  • A calm, patient, and empathetic approach to behaviour and communication

  • Flexible, reliable, and able to adapt to different school environments

Desirable but not essential:
  • An up-to-date DBS on the Update Service (or willing to apply)

  • Relevant qualifications (e.g., CACHE, NVQ, or equivalent)

  • Team Teach, Makaton, or PECS training
