On behalf of our client, a leading global business with roots in the Teesside area, we are recruiting for a Senior Buyer. This is a new position to supplement and strengthen the existing team.
The successful candidate will assist in the existing Procurement Department who manage the purchasing a range of products and services, ranging from stationary all the way through to heavy plant and multiple services. This is a role best suited to a Senior Buyer with experience of both directs and in directs who is looking for a blend of operational and strategic work.
The key duties include:
- Manage supplier relationships
- Negotiate costs and delivery lead times with suppliers.
- Manage the documentation associated with purchase orders.
- Analysing stock reports and monitor stock levels.
- Managing the buying of stock from overseas.
- Overseeing and monitoring contracts with suppliers.
- Sourcing new suppliers in the UK and Abroad.
- Liaise with Sales team members regarding their customersā enquiries and order status.
- Managing and purchasing all types of consumables.
Experience in negotiating long term contracts would also be advantageous.
The ideal candidate will have a proven track record within purchasing, be confident in negotiations with suppliers and able to carry out purchasing activities.
