Trainee Bench Joiner

Salary - Competitive
Full-Time, 37 hours | 9-day fortnight. Monday to Thursday 7.30am 4.45pm and 8am to 12pm on a Friday with every second Friday off
We require an additional Trainee Bench Joiner to join our busy workshop an integral part of our vehicle conversion.
As a Trainee Bench Joiner youll be joining us at our Head Office on the Staffordshire & Cheshire border as part of our valued team. This could be considered the first step in a career as a coach builder as we aim to progress appropriate candidates internally within the business.

We require a Trainee Bench Joiner/trimmer to support the growth of the company.Joinery skills are essential for the position along with good all-round practical ability as you will be working with a range of materials including wood, cloth, vinyl and metal. On a daily basis you will be making luggage racks, bespoke panels and window surrounds for different van conversions. Other skills might include trimming, window and seat fitting. Although predominantly based in the woodwork shop, the role can be a stepping stone for a move into the factory to train as a coach builder for the candidate who demonstrates the right attitude and ability.
Essential Skills
- Excellent hand-eye coordination
- Experience operating a range of woodworking machines
- Have good attention to detail and a desire to produce work of a high standard
- Competent operating a range of hand tools, power tools and air tools
- Ability to work accurately to strict deadlines
- Ability to work efficiently either on your own or as part of a team
- An awareness of health and safety
The ideal candidate will come from a time served and college trained apprenticeship in a relevant trade.
