They are seeking a talented and dedicated Estimator to join their dynamic team and contribute to our ongoing success.

Job Summary:You will play a critical role in the preparation of accurate cost estimates for structural steel projects. This includes analysing project requirements, interpreting technical drawings, liaising with suppliers and subcontractors, and ensuring that all estimates are competitive and comprehensive. The ideal candidate will have a keen eye for detail, strong analytical skills, and a thorough understanding of the structural steel industry.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Review and interpret architectural and structural drawings, specifications, and project requirements.
  • Prepare detailed cost estimates for structural steel projects, considering materials, labour, equipment, and subcontractor costs.
  • Source and obtain competitive quotes from suppliers and subcontractors.
  • Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to develop accurate and competitive bids.
  • Monitor and analyse project costs and progress, making adjustments to estimates as necessary.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of industry standards, market trends, and material prices.
  • Prepare and submit accurate and timely bid proposals and tender documents.
  • Participate in project handover meetings to ensure smooth transition from estimation to execution.
  • Assist in value engineering and cost control measures to maximise project profitability.
  • Keep detailed records of all estimates, correspondence, and project documentation.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Proven experience as an Estimator in the structural steel industry.
  • Strong understanding of construction processes, materials, and costs associated with structural steelwork.
  • Proficiency in reading and interpreting architectural and structural drawings.
  • Excellent mathematical and analytical skills.
  • Proficiency in estimation software and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Project).
  • Strong communication and negotiation skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Detail-oriented with strong organisational and time management skills.
  • Relevant qualifications in construction management, civil engineering, or a related field are preferred.
