We are recruiting for a Production Supervisor to join a global manufacturer of fencing and gates at their premises in Stoke reporting into the Fabrication Manager.This is a newly created full time permanent role, working Monday to Thursday 7.30-4pm and Fridays 7.30-3pm offering a salary of £30-35k per annum plus benefits as below!As Production Supervisor you will be leading a team of approx. 50 production staff including machine operators and welders to ensure the effective delivery of all production processes whilst improving quality and productivity using a hands on approach to your role. Your main duties will include:
  • Ensure all employees use safe working practices at all times
  • Work with manager to assess and maintain all scheduled H&S activities
  • Implement H&S improvements as appropriate
  • Identify and report all H&S issues in a timely manner
  • Increase and promote awareness of H&S within the department
  • Ensure correct PPE is worn at all times
  • Ensure all new starters are fully inducted and trained for the required tasks
  • Ensure all operatives are following appropriate Safe Standards of Working
  • Ensure required quality standards are maintained
  • Implement and maintain appropriate welding standards
  • Ensure all quality checks are carried out and recorded correctly
  • Develop, implement & maintain productivity KPI’s with the team
  • Regularly review production performance with team members
  • Seek and implement best practice for production processes
  • Manage department schedule and production plan
  • Effectively manage manning levels to achieve required output
  • Collate and report department performance
  • Understand the changing needs of staff
  • Identify appropriate development and training for direct reports
  • Report all maintenance issues in a timely manner
We are really keen to hear from applicants with the following skills and experience:
  • Strong experience in a Supervisor/ Assistant Manager role within a production/ manufacturing environment is essential
  • Excellent people management skills with proven coaching and mentoring skills
  • Confident in the use of MS Office (Word, Excel and Outlook) as well as ERP systems
  • Adaptable and flexible in your approach, with the ability to organize, multi-task and priortise
  • Good standard of numeracy and literacy
