West Midlands?? £33.88 per hour | Agency Role | Immediate StartAre you a skilled and compassionate Qualified Social Worker with the experience and confidence to support children and families through complex challenges? We're seeking an experienced Advanced/Senior Practitioner to join a committed Children and Families Team within a forward-thinking local authority in the West Midlands. This is an excellent opportunity to work in a relationship-based, strengths-focused service where you’ll have a genuine impact on improving outcomes for children, young people, and their families.?? The Role: As an Advanced/Senior Practitioner, you’ll lead on complex family cases, ensuring that the voices of children and young people are at the heart of your work. You’ll provide professional guidance to colleagues and help shape high-quality interventions that lead to sustainable, positive change.You will:
  • Work directly with children and families to build meaningful relationships
  • Undertake thorough assessments and create care plans tailored to individual needs
  • Support families through Child in Need, Child Protection, and Public Law Outline (PLO) processes
  • Mentor and support newly qualified social workers and students
  • Promote early intervention and preventative strategies
  • Contribute to team learning through reflective supervision and case discussions
  • Step in to support team leadership when needed, deputising for the Team Manager
? About You: You’ll be the kind of practitioner who:
  • Is a Qualified Social Worker registered with Social Work England
  • Has 4+ years of post-qualifying experience, particularly in children and families work
  • Is confident in complex case management, including CIN, CP, and Court
  • Understands the impact of trauma, neglect, and family stressors on child development
  • Works in a child-centred and strengths-based way
  • Communicates clearly, builds trust, and remains calm under pressure
  • Brings a reflective, team-focused approach to your practice
  • Is passionate about helping families grow stronger together
