Part-Time SEN Teaching Assistant (Supply) - January Start
Academics are seeking a compassionate and dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to work within one of our partnering schools on a part-time, supply basis from January. This role will involve providing one-to-one support for a non-verbal child in Reception who will be attending on a reduced timetable.
Role Details
Hours: 8:30am - 12:30pm
Days: Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday
Contract: Initially 6 weeks, with a strong possibility of extension while we await specialist provision
Setting: Reception (Early Years)
Responsibilities
Provide consistent 1:1 support tailored to the child's individual needs
Use a calm, patient approach to help the child access learning and daily routines
Support communication using appropriate strategies and resources
Work closely with the class teacher and SENCO to implement personalised support plans
Promote a safe, inclusive, and nurturing environment
About You
Experience working with children with SEN, ideally non-verbal or early communication needs
A positive, nurturing attitude with the ability to build strong, trusting relationships
Reliability, flexibility, and the ability to work as part of a supportive team
Experience in Early Years is beneficial but not essential
The role is based on the outskirts of Stoke-on-Trent easily accessible from Cheshire East and North Staffordshire areas.
