Job Description:
  • Teaching Focus:

    • Primary Age pupils and some secondary age pupils working below age-related expectations
    • Life skills/functional pathways
    • KS2/KS3 subjects
    • Entry level and functional skills maths and English (advantageous)
  • Role Responsibilities:

    • Deliver high-quality teaching to support academic, social, and emotional progress
    • Utilise creativity and maintain high expectations for pupil achievement
    • Plan and deliver a broad, balanced curriculum tailored to the needs of pupils with ASC
    • Supervise and guide Teaching Assistants and Higher Level Teaching Assistants
    • Conduct Professional Development Reviews for support staff
    • Implement school policies, including safeguarding and equality of opportunity
    • Monitor pupils' health, well-being, and personal care
    • Communicate concerns to Pastoral/clinical/SEND support teams and other relevant professionals
Ideal Candidate:

The ideal candidate will have experience in teaching a range of subjects at the primary level, with some secondary level experience beneficial. A strong understanding of working with children who have ASC and a commitment to their holistic development is essential. High creativity, expectations, and a collaborative approach with support staff are key to success in this role.
