ARE YOU A LAB TECHNICIAN FROM A FOUNDRY BACKGROUND WITH SAND TESTING EXPERIENCE?
Foundry Laboratory Technician required for a specialist manufacturer who are well established in their industry. They are renowned for producing high quality products for a wide range of sectors.
To apply for the role, you must have previous experience as a laboratory technician within a foundry environment. Applicants will ideally have experience of sand testing of moulded sand and a metallurgical understanding. Candidates must be proficient in Microsoft Office packages.
The role will ultimately involve providing technical data through lab testing of moulded sand used on the production line and to provide quality assurance that all the moulds will produce the desired casting quality. You will complete hourly sand check on both backing and facing sand to test for; compactability, green strength, permeability, moisture, mould hardness, wet tensile and sand temperature. You will review knockout temperatures hourly. You will collate all sand and spectrographic analysis data weekly on excel. As part of your role, you will contribute to machine calibration activities.

*Providing technical data through lab testing of moulded sand used on production lines
*Sand Testing; compactability, green strength, permeability, moisture, mould hardness, wet tensile and sand temperature.
*Reviewing knockout temperatures hourly
*Collation of sand and spectrographic analysis weekly
*Core machine calibration
*Sending sand samples for monthly review; sulphur content, sieve analysis + PH Level
*Contribution to metallurgical and metal testing
*Double Days. 05:00 to 13:00 and 12:00 to 20:00
