Your new companyWe are very pleased to be supporting a market leading specialist distributor for the agricultural sector, with the recruitment of a Finance Director on a part-time basis, 16 hours a week, to take ownership of finance and provide high level advisory/consultancy support to the Directors to influence business performance and strategy. Your new roleThe main areas are set out below.Management of the Day-to-Day Accounts

  • Managing one assistant and the accounts team:
    • Sales and purchase ledgers
    • Weekly supplier payments
    • Reconciliations
    • Expense and credit card management
    • Payroll & pensions - liaison with HMRC
    • Credit control - assisting the Customer Services Team
  • Weekly meeting with the MD of the business together with the shareholder director

Reporting and Annual Audit

  • Preparation of monthly management accounts and information
  • Organising daily and other periodic reports from the ERP system
  • Oversight of cash flow and regular updates / assistance with planning
  • Annual budgeting process
  • Ensuring full compliance with management and statutory reporting requirements, deadlines and accounting policies
  • Organising the annual audit with the external auditors
  • Tax work and filings including quarterly VAT
  • Liaising with the bank and external advisors

Advisory Work

  • Advising on finance systems and ensuring automation where possible
  • Benchmarking performance of the market
  • Advising on finance options and engagement with external funders
  • Advising on integration with the shareholders of other businesses
  • There is a need for advice on stock systems both within this business and, on a consultancy basis, the shareholders of other businesses.
  • Taking an active lead in identifying improvements and efficiencies and suggesting solutions
