Purpose of Role

To assist the head gardener in ensuring the prestigious site is maintained to the highest possible standards in accordance with good horticulture practice for the enjoyment, recreation and safety of visitors.

Main Duties & Responsibilities

• Horticultural operations including formative pruning for a range of plants, annual seasonal bedding operations, pest & disease control, general grass cutting, propagation.
• Hedge cutting, irrigation, strimming, edge reformation.
• Weed control.
• Assist in the collection and safe disposal of litter through hand picking and sweeping footpaths so as to keep the site in a clean and tidy condition at all times.

Essential Skills/ Experience:

• Full time 40 hours per week
• The skill to build good working relationships
• Reliable and excellent timekeeper
• Full training and induction provided
• Horticultural qualifications advantageous

WORKING DAYS TUESDAY TO SATURDAY (SUNDAY & MONDAY REST DAYS) or

SUNDAY TO THURSDAY (FRIDAY & SATURDAY REST DAYS)
