- Act as a Single Point of Contact (SPOC) for the lawful acquisition of communications data in criminal investigations.
- Work closely with investigators, Senior Investigating Officers (SIOs), and other law enforcement partners to develop strategies for data acquisition.
- Request, process, and assess communications data from CSPs, ISPs, and ASPs, ensuring compliance with RIPA, CPIA, DPA, and the Management of Police Information Act.
- Support emergency response teams with 24/7 on-call support, advising on real-time data retrieval in critical situations, including threat-to-life and crime-in-action scenarios.
- Conduct research and analysis on emerging trends in digital communications, identifying new law enforcement strategies for obtaining and interpreting data.
- Provide briefings, training, and strategic advice to operational officers, crime investigators, and partner agencies.
- Deliver witness statements and provide expert testimony in court proceedings as required.
- Ensure data protection and legal compliance, following national codes of practice.
- Previous experience within a policing intelligence or investigative unit
- Understanding of telecommunications, network services, and emerging digital technologies
- Experience working with national and regional intelligence teams
