Design Manager

QTS Group is looking for a Design Manager to join our team.

Role and Responsibilities:

• Review client remits and ensure that their expectations are met
• Manage and facilitate required surveys by planning rail access, preparation of works package plans, task briefings and risk assessments where required
• Day to day management of design team
• Oversee managing and maintaining design trackers
• Oversee the management of design change
• Manage and develop Value Engineering/Opportunities up to date for Efficiencies Tracker
• Assist the Senior Design Manager in ensuring key deliverables are managed and delivered in accordance with the agreed programme and price.
• Liaise with QTS Delivery team to ensure designs are being delivered correctly.
• Maintain thorough documentation through the design process
• Identify any scope change in design/surveys and highlight this to the Senior Design Manager and commercial/estimating team
• Arrange and Attend meetings as required with the client and designers
• Participate and engage fully in company appraisal/performance review processes and constantly work to improve your individual, your team and wider group’s performance

Skills required:

• 5+ Years Civil Engineering experience within railway environment (Essential).
• BEng or BSc Minimum Degree in Civil Engineering
• Membership of ICE or equivalent body and working towards corporate membership
• Familiar with the railway standards (Desirable) 
• Must be IT literate
• Good attention to detail and highly organised
• Full UK Driving Licence (Essential)
