Role Overview: The Design Engineer is responsible for creating 3D CAD models and drawings for new and existing products, developing Bills of Material (BOMs), and supporting production processes. This role involves ensuring compliance with industry codes and customer requirements, participating in Continuous Improvement initiatives, and supporting the transition of new products into production.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design 3D models and produce engineering drawings and BOMs for manufacturing.
  • Interpret customer requirements from purchase orders and specifications.
  • Ensure designs comply with standards like API, ISO, PED, and ASME VIII.
  • Apply Design for Manufacture/Assembly (DFM/DFA) methodologies.
  • Participate in Continuous Improvement initiatives.
  • Develop and update user manuals.
  • Check drawings and BOMs for accuracy.
  • Address queries from internal teams, including Machine Shop, Quality, and Aftermarket.
  • Engage in business travel as needed.

Experience and Qualifications:

  • Qualification in Mechanical Engineering.
  • Proficiency in 3D CAD and drafting.
  • Experience with Design for Manufacture/Assembly.
  • Knowledge of Geometrical Design and Tolerancing (GD&T).
  • Proficiency with MRP systems (e.g., Visual, Syteline).
  • Experience with quality management systems.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and a proactive attitude.
  • Ability to work independently or as part of a team.
  • Proficiency in MS Office, particularly Excel.
