Academics are recruiting for a Teaching Assistant for children with Mental Health Needs role, which is located at a specialist school in Stroud for children with Social, Emotional, Mental Needs, trauma and behavioural difficulties. Graduates who have qualified in Psychology or Counselling would be excellent for this role but any other relevant experience regarding Mental Health support or working with children will be considered!

This Teaching Assistant for Children with Mental Health Needs role will be full time starting ASAP. The SEN students are aged 5 to 16 and have all experienced complex developmental trauma, have heightened emotional needs and behavioural challenges. Therefore, the appointed Mental Health Teaching Assistant for Children with Mental Health Needs will be responsible for providing comprehensive 1:1 and small group support to promote wellbeing, foster personal development and create tailored individual behaviour plans. The children in this school requires a Teaching Assistant who is understanding of their complex needs, who is flexible and prepared to embrace new challenges.
