Futraheat is looking to hire an experienced, high performing Senior Project Engineer with an industrial process engineering background to help deliver our growing range of high temperature heat pump projects. This exciting role will see the successful candidate work with the design team, external suppliers, and industrial end-users/customers, to ensure the safe and successful delivery of Futraheat’s first and future heat pumps.
This will include activities such as:
- Work closely with industrial partners/clients on requirements/specifications.
- Defining product requirements and compiling detailed engineering specifications, generation of P&IDs.
- Sourcing solutions from the supply chain and technical procurement.
- Responsible for identifying and liaising with subcontractors in the manufacture of the heat pump.
- Generating scope of works and RFQs for suppliers.
- Supervision of subcontractors both onsite and offsite.
- Work closely with the electrical and test engineers to develop the control system and test procedures for the instrumentation and control systems.
- Remaining up to date with industry trends/development and knowledge of latest innovations.
- Responsible for commissioning of the heat pump at a customers site.
Areas of interest include:
- Required: Degree or equivalent: Mechanical/Chemical or related, minimum 2.1 degree.
- Required: Experience with industrial process plant – boilers, pipework, heat exchangers etc. (Steam system experience is desirable but not essential).
- Required: Good experience in commissioning or operating process equipment or plant.
- Required: Competence in performing design calculations for industrial processes.
- Required: Experience with 2D drawing software, preferably AutoCAD.
- Desirable: Knowledge of and ability to compile design files as required to satisfy PED/PESR and other safety regulations.
- Desirable: Ability to perform and/or oversee onsite testing including site assessments and plant installations.
- Desirable: Knowledge of relevant industrial processes where heat pumps are applicable e.g. distillation, evaporation, drying etc.
- Desirable: Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel.
This position would suit an Engineer who is adaptable, a self-starter, responsive, have a problem solving approach and be determined and keen to take ownership; this could mean stretching your remit, stepping outside of your comfort zone or finding creative solutions to any obstacles you face. You’ll also need to be highly collaborative and see your achievements as something shared by the team.
