The Recruitment Co is currently recruiting for Barristers Fees Clerk to join our clients growing team based in SA1 Swansea.

Contract: Permanent

Salary: £28,000p.a (Reviewed 9 months from start date)

Hours: Monday to Friday 9am - 5.30pm / 8.30am - 5pm. 37.5 hours paid hours per week.

Summary: Applications are encouraged from individuals with experience in the legal sector and/or finance, although additional training will be provided. The successful candidate will be forward-thinking and proactive, will take responsibility and see tasks through to completion, highly motivated, hardworking, and professional.

Main duties will include:

  • Billing of legally aided fees including submission of bills/payment on account applications on CCMS
  • Processing payments on to LEX system
  • Daily billing of private fees as required
  • Sending fee notes and invoices for all new work billed
  • Having an organised approach to Chamber's fee chasing systems
  • Proactively chasing and reporting of Barristers' aged debt, including communication thereof
  • Prompt follow up of billing queries and requests
  • Providing general assistance with other fee-related tasks and projects when required

Suitable candidates will have:

  • Excellent numerate and evidenced IT skills
  • Keen attention to detail
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, including good spoken and written English
  • Ability to work effectively with colleagues, barristers, and clients
  • Calm, patient, and flexible approach to work in a very busy environment
  • Work well under pressure with the ability to multitask
  • Professional attitude and presentation
  • Good organisational skills to ensure all financial information is accurate and up to date

Experience & Qualifications:

  • Good GCSE qualifications (or equivalent), including an A*to C grade in Mathematics and English
  • Previous experience experience in the legal sector and/or finance sector
