Are you passionate about making a difference in the lives of children with special educational needs? Vision for Education is seeking dedicated and compassionate SEN Teaching Assistants to join our team, working across various SEN schools and Pupil Referral Units (PRU) in Swansea.

As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you will provide vital support to students with a range of needs, including Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), Moderate Learning Difficulties (MLD), Severe Learning Difficulties (SLD), and Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) issues. Your role will be to assist in creating a nurturing and stimulating environment that promotes learning and development.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supporting teachers in delivering tailored educational programs.
  • Assisting students with their physical, emotional, and educational needs.
  • Creating a positive and inclusive classroom atmosphere.
  • Managing challenging behavior with sensitivity and professionalism.
  • Encouraging student engagement and participation.
  • Providing one-on-one support when necessary.

Requirements:

  • Previous experience working with children or adults with special needs is highly desirable.
  • A patient, caring, and empathetic nature.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • The ability to work effectively as part of a team.
  • Flexibility and adaptability to meet the varied needs of students.
  • A valid DBS check or willingness to obtain one.
