Procurement Assistant

Acorn by Synergie is currently recruiting on behalf of their prestigious client in Clydach, Swansea for a Procurement Assistant.The Mond Nickel Refinery, owned & operated by Vale Europe celebrated 120 years of production last year, and is one of the world's leading Nickel refineries. Vale are globally one of the world's largest mining companies, with operations in the UK, Asia, the USA and across Europe.

The successful candidate will be responsible for providing support and advice to the local Operations Teams on procurement processes, purchase orders and contracts. Additional accountabilities include:

• Commercial analysis
• Catalogue price and item maintenance
• Developingcost down initiatives, negotiations with suppliers, ensure cost effective sourcing of products and services.
• Record quality concerns
• Work closely with other members of the purchasing team
• Adherence with Vale Norms and Procurement Standards to effectively safeguard and control company assets, whilst also ensuring compliance standards are constantly maintained.

The ideal candidate must have experience in a procurement position, preferably within a manufacturing environment and hold a qualification in a business-related subject.

There is a high level of accuracy, attention to detail and positive communication with client groups required in this role so candidates must demonstrate how they can meet these criteria.

Salary expectations between £29,000 & £32,000 per annum depending on experience - with an additional annual bonus.
