Fusion People are actively recruiting for a Working Foreman to work on behalf of our Swindon based Maintenance and Construction client on a permanent basis.

Reporting to the Contracts Manager, as a Working Foreman you will take on the role of supporting the Special Projects and Property Services Department with their ongoing works and variety of projects of a maintenance and refurbishment nature.

Predominantly working within MOD, Schools, Public Buildings, Social Housing and other properties.

The primary role of this Working Foreman will be ensuring that the allocated projects are run efficiently and profitably ensuring full compliance to Health & Safety legislation and contract conditions. The most critical conditions being that all work is completed to a high standard, in a safe working manner, within programme and to the total satisfaction of our client.

Job description and Responsibilities

  • Ensure all work is completed within the specified timescales.
  • Be an ambassador for the organisation whilst undertaking works on site when required.
  • Ensure effective communication between the client and the office/supervisor/manager.
  • Report any issues or concerns to your manager in respect to the project or task you are working on to ensure there are no delays in completion so as not to encounter any contract penalty clauses.
  • Ensure that all works are carried out in accordance with the client's requirements/specifications.
  • Carry out works to the required standard whilst using sustainable resources and being environmentally conscious.
  • Overseeing, supervising and training of site personnel including trainees and apprentices..
  • Supervision of specialist and nominated sub-contractors.
  • Identify and implement improvements to any aspect of the service that we provide.
  • Ensure that acceptable levels of customer care are provided at all times.

Essential Requirements

  • Minimum of NVQ Level 2 or equivalent within chosen trade
  • Experience of supervising teams and projects in a similar environment
  • SSSTS/SMSTS
  • Exceptional leadership skills
  • Ability to use IT systems
  • Knowledge in Health & Safety legislation and compliance
  • Self-motivated and proactive
  • Positive attitude and the ability to integrate and be an active part in the team
  • Good organisational skills and the ability to prioritise to meet deadlines
  • You must hold a full current UK driving licence
