Senior Power Electronics Engineer (Design / R&D)

38 Hours 08:30-17:00 Mon-Thu and 08:30-15:00 on Friday, with a 30-minute unpaid lunch break daily.

Senior Power Electronics Engineer required for an industry-leading company who are currently researching, designing and developing new motor technologies and renewable energy storage systems.

This position will suit candidates experienced with power electronic design, including working with schematic capture and PCB layout designs. You will hold high power SiC/IGBT knowledge and C/C++ programming skills are essential.

As Senior Power Electronics Engineer you will be responsible for all aspects of product development from concept to completion of the product’s release. This will involve circuit design, modelling, detailing specifications, PCB design and product testing. You will produce schematics and generate BOMs where necessary. You will work closely with software, systems, and mechanical teams, as well as liaising with key suppliers.

This is a unique opening for an accomplished power electronics specialist to work on exciting, ground-breaking technology in a company receiving much attention for their industry-leading ideas.

The Senior Power Electronics Engineer Role:

· All aspects of product development, circuit design, prototyping, test and simulation etc
· Modelling, PCB & breadboard design, technical documentation and BOMs
· Involvement with fault investigation and FMEA

The successful Senior Power Electronics Engineer candidate:

· A degree or equivalent in relevant discipline (PhD desirable)
· Extensive power electronics experience
· Experience with PCB layout, schematic capture
· C/C ++ essential
· Automotive experience desirable, especially work on safety-critical systems & knowledge of ISO 26262
