 Are you an experienced Yard Supervisor with Counterbalance licence.

Due to growth, we are currently seeking a dedicated and experienced Warehouse Yard Supervisor with Forklift experience to join our state of the art manufacturing facility, working on our dayshift. Monday to Friday 07:30am - 16:00pm.

As Yard Supervisor you will manage the efficient running of our busy transport yard. Working to strict QHSE standards, optimising vehicle and load movement efficiency whilst maintaining operational excellence. Able to work on the whole process with little supervision and continuously seeking to improve working practices to enable our thriving business to transport high daily tonnage targets

Responsibilities

  • Ensure customers, suppliers, contractors, and visitors have a positive experience when delivering into, collecting from, or working within the yard area.

  • Ensure a safe, clean, and environmentally compliant work area, supporting a culture where safety is our priority.

  • Efficiently organise, monitor, and manage the safe flow of traffic throughout the yard.

  • Monitor and control the movement of pallets from inside the warehouse intothe correct marshalling lanes ready for efficient vehicle loading.

  • In conjunction with QHSE, ensure the waste / skip area is controlled in a tidy and orderly manner.

  • Take control of the vehicular movements within the Instarmac yard to avoid delays or demurrage fees, ensuring smooth flow and reduction in congestion and bottlenecks.

  • Liaising with the Materials Planner to ensure our goods in service is smooth and manageable on a daily/weekly basis. Taking ownership of the Goods-in schedule to ensure suppliers have a reliable and professional booking in system.

  • Manage delivery bookings, time allocations and the induction of supplier and 3rd Party collection drivers/vehicles on site.

  • Continually monitor the status of routes, making timely suggestions and decisions which allow for smooth and timely loading process to take effect. 

  • Oversee and control the loading and unloading process, ensuring the use of the bays are controlled in a manner which allows for smooth and timely flow of traffic through the yard. 

  • Take control of all traffic entering and exiting the site including our fleet, suppliers and tankers.

  • Represent the Warehouse and Transport department on the H&S Committee, actively making recommendations and implementing actions accordingly.

  • Manage the movement of product into and out of our satellite warehouses, to ensure smooth receipt process from suppliers, and transfer requests from our multi site warehouse facilities.

  • Ensure that all returned product is processed correctly and moved into warehouse in a timely fashion.

  • Identify areas for change / improvement. Continually striving to drive forward standards / improvements across all areas.

  • Maintain a friendly hands-on approach and can do attitude.

  • Undertake duties in accordance with all relevant management systems and controls.

As Yard Supervisor you will need:

  • Experience of working in a Supervisory role within a logistics environment
  • A proven record of hitting targets and improving standards.
  • Strong team working experience, and can demonstrate how to motivate and manage a team
  • Good working knowledge of QHSE requirements in a busy working environment.
  • Exceptional customer service skills.
  • Exceptional communication skills. 
  • Forklift Licence.
  • High levels of flexibility and change management.
