Construction Site Safety Manager

Job Overview:

As part of the Capital Projects Management Team, you will assume the pivotal role of Construction Site Safety Manager. Based on the construction site you will lead safety initiatives and ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations. Your expertise will be instrumental in fostering a culture of safety across all construction projects undertaken.

Key Responsibilities:

-Develop and implement a comprehensive site safety strategy and management systems.
-Establish safety processes and procedures for the delivery team, promoting a safety-first culture.
-Coordinate risk assessments, define responsibilities, and establish communication plans and safety routines.
-Facilitate all forms of risk assessment and review/approve RAMS for site works.
-Conduct regular site inspections, identify potential hazards, and ensure compliance with safety standards.
-Contribute to HAZID and HAZOP studies, and develop emergency response plans.
-Investigate accidents, incidents, and near-misses, and maintain associated records.
-Ensure proper use of PPE by all personnel and monitor contractors safety procedures.
-Conduct H&S audits, quality assurance, and ensure compliance with environmental regulations.
-Maintain awareness of and implement new legislation relating to health and safety.

Essential Experience:

-Health & Safety Qualifications and Certification (IOSH/NEBOSH) and CSCS Site Card.
-Strong communication skills, with the ability to influence and inspire others.
-Excellent organizational and record-keeping abilities.
-Good working knowledge of British Health & Safety legislation.
-Minimum 5+ years' experience in a similar management role, with expertise in risk assessments, safety inspections, emergency preparedness, accident investigations, safety communication, and environmental compliance.

Desired Experience:

-First Aid training and background in managing people.
-Working knowledge of COMAH Regulations and experience in Design for Safety.
-Familiarity with Fire Prevention and Risk Management, as well as Safety and Environmental Management Systems.
