The appointed temporary postholder will be required to provide support to the Energy Manager on the following activities:

the Council's commitment to achieving carbon neutrality

the development and implementation of our energy and carbon management policies - the improvement of our energy management and efficiency - establishment and delivery of energy-related projects and initiatives

management and delivery of key energy contracts - compliance with energy management and performance requirements and reporting

The successful applicant will have an enthusiasm for energy management, sustainability and an awareness of climate change, as well as demonstrable experience of supporting the delivery of projects. They will be able to work to tight and often conflicting deadlines and have the ability to manage and prioritise their workload. Strong communication skills are essential and a good awareness of the structure and operations of local government organisations are desirable.
