We have a fantastic opportunity for a Deputy Service Manager.

We have a great opportunity available for a Deputy Service Manager to lead our team based within Taunton – Somerset on a full time, permanent basis, working 40 hours per week. You will also be included in the rota for on call.

As our Deputy Service Manager, you will positively support the Registered Manager in providing leadership to the staff team and supporting and facilitating the needs of the service users, in line with our Christian Mission and Values, legislative and regulatory requirements.
In this role you will be:
- Supporting the Service Manager in the delivery of high-quality care and support and to deputise when required.
- Supervising / managing staff and assisting key workers and support staff and providing staff and service users with relevant advice, support and training and putting your belief in Christ into action as a manager
- Facilitating and ensuring effective communication within the service and the wider Trust and ensuring teams are briefed fully
- Supporting and where necessary, leading, in the assessment and management of risk.
- Assisting in the management of the referral process within the service and to achieve agreed occupancy levels.
- Assisting in the management of a fair and equitable rota which ensures that adequate cover is maintained at all times and to play a full part in the service rota.
- Ensuring that clients are able to participate as fully as possible in the life of the service and to manage regular service user meetings and facilitate service user inclusion.
The successful candidate will be a practicing Christian who will create an environment where people feel valued, empowered and equipped to do their best work. This person will play a key part in providing strong Christian leadership and will be required to uphold the Trust’s Christian ethos and Christ like culture, aligned with our Christian Identity, and therefore there is a genuine occupational requirement for the post holder to be a practicing and professing Christian under the Equality Act 2010.

About HOUSE OF ST MARTIN
House of St Martin is a Registered care home for men with multiple needs, including substance misuse, mental health needs or a learning disability. It is located three miles from Taunton and set in six acres of beautiful countryside. The home is registered to support 27 men, offering full-board catering. We provide a safe calm environment from which men can plan their next steps and grow in independence.
