Role – Assistant maintenance manager role
Location – Based close to Thetford, Norfolk
Working hours –Monday to Friday – 8.00am – 6.00pm
Salary - Up to £52,000 per annum
Capacity of role – Permanent position
Our client is an established organisation who is currently recruiting for an assistant engineering manager to join their team.
Candidates will ideally have worked within a maintenance based role previously.
Main duties will include -
• In this busy and fast paced role, you will ensure that the engineering team works safely and complies with site H&S rules and food safety requirements.
• Execute planned preventative maintenance across a variety of machinery and production equipment to maximise machinery up time and minimise disruption to production targets.
• Ensure all plant and equipment adheres to relevant legislation in order that a safe working environment is maintained.
• Fault finding, pro-active maintenance and continuous improvement.
• Completing emergency maintenance in the event of equipment breakdown.
• Work efficiently to ensure all electrical/mechanical engineering work is completed in a safe manner.
• Ensure all expenses stay within the allocated budget.
• Establish maintenance policies and procedures.
• Keeping a record of preventative and emergency maintenance carried out.
• Ability to understand business needs, working to a defined schedule and where necessary prioritise own work accordingly.
• Maintain inventory, highlighting shortages.
• Provide and maintain an excellent level of service to the business.
• Identify gaps/efficiencies in PM schedules based on experience.

Candidate attributes -
• A time served multi-skilled engineer, with a proven track record.
• Mechanical/electrical fault finding with regards to maintenance and breakdowns.
• Background working in a manufacturing environment.
• Strong problem solving and root cause analysis skills.
• Good communication skills.
• Flexible approach to work.
• Strong ability to work cross functionally.
• Have experience of working with automated production lines, packaging machinery and conveyors.
• Be able to work on own initiative and as part of a small team.
