Production Manager 

My client is looking for an experienced, dynamic and passionate production manager to take ownership of the operations of the business. This is an amazing opportunity for the right candidate, You will have at least 3 years’ experience as a production manager within food manufacturing. While we are looking for someone with a background in the processes of food production, such as baking, brewing or cooking. 


Duties and responsibilities 

  • Production Management:
  • Taking full accountability of all aspects of production, as if it was your own.
  • Ensure the safety of all employees and visitors following all policies and procedures relating to production.
  • Driving product quality through consistency 
  • Manage and work to to SALSA standards and to be always audit ready.
  • Manage stock, call-off and receipt of all materials and ingredients.
  • Be responsible for ensuring all orders are delivered on time and in full.
  • Occasional production duties – leading by doing, and chipping in when needed.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvement.
  • Play an active role in developing new products and provide operational support to NPD launches.
  • Ensure high levels of customer service.
  • People and Team
  • Lead, mentor and develop the team by engaging the team in the company strategy, regular team reviews, regular one-to-ones, and building performance through objectives and appraisals.
  • Line manage team. Set high standards and tackle under performance proactively.
  • Be responsible for staff recruitment and agency resource to meet production demand.
  • Work closely with all stakeholders in the business to improve communication and build strong relationships.
  • Strategy and Profitability
  • Contribute to overall business strategy and annual budget process.
  • Monthly management of all aspects of data needed to produce an accurate P&L, such as stock check etc.
  • Having a value add and continuous improvement approach to all aspects 
  • Actively engage with the wider community to raise awareness
