Compliance Officer

Key Responsibilities
- Complete technical aspects of product development for all products produced
- Primary contact for Retailer Audits and other second and third party audits/visits
- Check appropriate product specifications, and artworks to ensure compliance with all relevant UK and EU legislation, guidance and codes of practice
- Amends documents or creates new documents, flow charts or spreadsheets as necessary, getting updated documents signed by relevant managers, updating system and Document Matrix, filing document paperwork
- Conducting monthly housekeeping audits for all departments
- Being the main compliance representative during customer audits, collating requested paperwork and managing the compliance assistant and others to ensure relevant paperwork is completed
- Conducting audits of supplier premises and facilities
- Be the Compliance representative during morning meetings and other meetings as appropriate
- Management of the site asbestos register including auditing, communication and updating of the register where changes have been made to the building fabric
- Conduct complaint audits with suppliers and conduct internal investigations which may result from a customer complaint or an internal complaint
- Investigate source of complaints and liaise with neighbours to ensure satisfactory conclusion
- Attend ongoing training to support the development of your role
- Any other duties as requested by your manager
About You
The ideal candidate for this role should have:
- Experience of working within Food Manufacturing Technical or Compliance Team
- Experience of auditing and dealing with auditors in particular BRC/GFSI
- Experience of delivering training courses
- Legal Labelling experience
- Experience of HACCP systems
- Experience of Quality Management Systems
- Experience of Food Safety Systems
- Desired experience of SAP systems
- Desired experience of managing people
- Keen eye for detail
- Excellent communication skills
- Flexible and adaptable
- Customer service focused
- Able to deal with difficult situations calmly
