Reed Engineering are currently working with a specialist manufacturer of shielding solutions who are market with leaders within their field.

They manage the end to end process providing bespoke solutions to their customers across multiple industries including medical, automotive, aerospace and high end audio.

Due to growth they are looking to strengthen their electronics department with an experienced electronics engineer, who will have experience across PCB layout design, product development, and will enjoy hands on work with electronics hardware.

Essential Skills:

  • Educational Background: Possess a relevant engineering degree in electronics engineering.
  • Professional Experience: Hold 2-5 years of relevant and transferable experience.
  • Circuit Design and PCB Layout: Extensive experience in circuit design and PCB layout, preferably using Altium. Knowledgeable about manufacturability and designing for CE.
  • Analog and Digital Fundamentals: Excellent understanding of both analogue and digital fundamentals, with a focus on low-noise design.
  • MRP/ERP Systems: Familiarity with MRP/ERP systems, including creating Bills of Materials (BOMs) and routings. Ideally, experience with Progress Plus.
  • Practical Skills: Hands-on experience with electronic measurement and signal generation equipment in practical workshops.
  • Technical Documentation: Proficient in providing technical documentation.

Desirable skills:

  • Proficient in working with microcontrollers and microprocessors (such as PIC, ST32 ARM, etc.).
  • Skilled in FPGA development using Xilinx tools.
  • Experienced in designing multi-layer flex circuits with consideration for manufacturability.
  • Proficient in coding with C++ and Embedded C, as well as using LabVIEW.
  • Strong understanding of generating and testing DC and AC magnetic fields.
  • Familiarity with EMI shielding techniques and knowledge of EMI testing standards (e.g., MIL-STD or IEEE).
  • Proficient in computer-aided design techniques and familiar with MCAD software like Inventor.
  • Able to support off-site work, with occasional travel within the UK and overseas.
