Engineering Manager - Water Works

Salary: £40,000 - £55,000

About Us:

We are a cohesive group of Civil, Structural, and Mechanical Engineers, working closely with a diverse range of specialists in river ecology. Furthermore, we have a dedicated installations team responsible for deploying our innovative solutions for fish and eel passage.

Job Description:

The successful candidate will oversee our small site team with the installation and construction of the fish passes, eel passes, screens and habitat improvement work.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage day-to-day operations of the construction site, including coordinating subcontractors, suppliers, and materials.
  • Assistance on site to install eel passes and fish passes. This would typically include the use of hand tools and where necessary small machines.
  • Develop and implement project schedules, ensuring timelines are met and resources are allocated efficiently.
  • Monitor progress and quality of workmanship, addressing any issues or concerns that arise.
  • Organisation of preliminaries before starting on site, including the preparation of site documents such as RAMS, COSHH forms and CPP.
  • Liaison with the wider team on aspects such as the buildability and H&S aspects of projects and co-ordination between the site team and design team
  • Management of materials, stock and site tools, including management of a stock and tool list
  • Prepare and submit regular progress reports to senior management.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience as a Site Manager in the construction industry.
  • Experience managing the construction of small to medium civil construction projects, ideally in the water environment.
  • Experience delivering small to medium civil construction projects, including use of a wide-range of hand tools
  • Experience preparing documents such as RAMS and CPP.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively.
  • Proficiency in project management software and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Valid CSCS card and SMSTS certificate.
