Composite Inspector required to join a luxury automotive brand based in Towcester on a permanent basis, offering a competitive market salary.

Our client holds a historic and legendary presence in Motorsport. Led by a team of experienced professionals and talented drivers, our client strives to showcase the brand's performance and technological prowess on the global stage of motorsport racing. The team's car is designed and developed in-house, utilising cutting-edge engineering and aerodynamic expertise, striving for podium finishes and championship success while embodying the spirit of British engineering and craftsmanship.

We are looking for an experienced Composite Inspector to join a skilled Night Shift, who is seeking an EXCITING opportunity to showcase their skills and be part of a dynamic team sharing a passion for racing and a hunger for competition.

Key Responsibilities of the Composite Inspector:

  • Inspect Composite Components: Thoroughly inspect both finished and in-process composite components to ensure compliance with quality standards and specifications.
  • Write Inspection Programs: Develop inspection programs using the Polyworks Metrology Suite to accurately assess component dimensions and geometry.
  • Geometric Validation: Validate the geometry of jigs, patterns, moulds, and components to ensure precision and accuracy in manufacturing.
  • Communicate Quality Assurance Reports: Effectively communicate quality assurance reports to internal manufacturing teams in a clear and concise manner, highlighting any deviations or issues.
  • Demonstrate Flexibility: Demonstrate flexibility and understanding in meeting departmental needs and adapting to busy periods.
  • Maintain Professionalism: Work proactively, responsibly, and professionally at all times, adhering to the company's reporting structure and standards.
  • Skill Development: Continuously maintain and develop skill levels to industry standards to enhance inspection capabilities.

The Ideal Composite Inspector will have experience with:

  • Composite Manufacturing Experience: Previous experience within a composite manufacturing environment, providing a solid foundation in composite materials and processes.
  • Polyworks Metrology Suite Proficiency: A thorough understanding and proficiency in using the Polyworks Metrology Suite for inspection program development.
  • Experience with Romer Arms and Laser Trackers: Familiarity and experience with Romer Arms and Laser Trackers for precise measurement tasks.
  • Technical Drawing Interpretation: Ability to interpret detailed technical drawings accurately.
  • Layup Table Interpretation: Capability to interpret layup tables to ensure correct component assembly.
  • Attention to Detail: High level of accuracy and attention to detail in inspection processes.
  • Engineering Process Understanding: Good understanding of engineering processes related to composite manufacturing.
  • Methodical Work Approach: Methodical and thorough approach to work to ensure consistency and reliability in inspections.
  • Flexibility and Pressure Handling: Ability to work flexibly and calmly under pressure to achieve targets and deliver results within required timeframes.

Hours:

Jan-April 17:00-01:30 5 nights a week

May-Dec 17:00-03:30 4 nights a week
