Company:My client is a leading specialist in steel frame buildings, catering to both commercial and industrial sectors. With an expanding team and growing projects, we are seeking a dynamic individual to join us in a Quantity Surveyor role or an Assistant QS ready to step into a more senior position. This is an excellent opportunity to become an integral part of a thriving company that values expertise and fosters career growth.

Location:Tunbridge Wells, with travel to various project sites across the UK. Overnight stays in hotels may be required.

Salary:£40,000 - £50,000 per annum, depending on experience and qualifications.

Role and Responsibilities:

  • Utilize your expertise in construction to manage quantity surveying duties for steel frame building projects.
  • Collaborate with the team to ensure projects are delivered on time and within budget.
  • Produce accurate estimates, perform take-offs, and create bills of costs.
  • Read and interpret drawings effectively to support project planning and execution.
  • Manage subcontractor packages efficiently, ensuring compliance and quality standards are met.
  • Assist in mentoring and nurturing junior team members, contributing to their professional development.
  • Demonstrate flexibility and readiness to work on-site at various locations as required.

Requirements:

  • Essential: Strong knowledge and experience in construction, particularly in steel frame buildings.
  • Desirable: Previous experience in estimating and performing take-offs.
  • Ability to read and interpret drawings accurately.
  • Familiarity with subcontractor package management.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proven ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Willingness to travel and stay overnight as necessary.
