Positive Behaviour Support / Learning Support Assistant needed in Tunbridge Wells

This school is set in a wonderful location in Tunbridge wells. The school is a secondary school for vulnerable students who have Behavioural and Support Needs. The school is looking for passionate and committed Learning and Behaviour support to ensure children are being provided the best possible support and nurture that's needed for them to flourish.

This is a fantastic opportunity for someone looking to either begin working with children who are in need, or to expand on previous experience and are looking for a new opportunity in a new school. This is a Full Time role.

Your Role

  • Supporting a range of vulnerable children between the ages of 11-16 years

  • Be able to appropriately calm children down and de-escalate

  • Working with other support staff to engage pupils in class and minimise disruption

  • Providing feedback to teachers and parents

  • Be available - Full or Part time - 8.15am - 3.30pm

The ideal candidate

  • Outgoing and mentoring manner

  • Enthusiastic and passionate about helping children reach their full potential

  • You will be expected to think on your feet and be proactive, no day is the same in a Special School, so being prepared is vital.

  • Ability to form excellent relationships and rapport with pupils

  • Driver preferable - not essential
