Teaching Assistant

Secondary Schoolbased in Twickenham

A small secondary school based in Twickenham are looking for a Teaching assistant who has a good understanding of SEN, to be able support children age 11-16 across their mainstream classes. The Teaching assistant role starts in September, trials and interviews will be held asap.

The school offer a fantastic enrichment programme for staff to be involved in, also homework and after school clubs. Parking available on site!

Teaching Assistant Responsibilities:

  • Work with students on a 1:1 basis and in small group
  • Carry out assessments and observations as instructed by teachers
  • Support with reading and writing - with a focus on students with special needs.
  • As a Teaching Assistant, the students you support will vary age 11-16
  • Write progress reports for students with SEN and varied abilities

Ideal skills and requirements:

  • B or above in GCSE Maths, English or Science
  • Experience working with children in any setting/ understanding of SEN
  • Experience working in a care setting e.g support worker or healthcare assistant
  • Enthusiastic attitude towards learning.
  • Be pro-active and professional.
