Major Recruitment are currently recruiting an experienced Electrical Engineer behalf of our esteemed client, a well-established family food production company with a rich history dating back to 1924.

Key Responsibilities:

As an Electrical Engineer, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the reliability of various assets across the site through high-quality planned maintenance. Your responsibilities include:

  • Maintaining equipment availability with precise and confident fault finding.
  • Being the first-line engineer for electrical breakdowns and project tasks.
  • Providing "hands-on" training to other engineers and apprentices when required.
  • Taking responsibility for health and safety actions to keep the business compliant.

Accountabilities:

In this role, you will be accountable for:

  • Ensuring equipment is safe to operate and eliminating risks to users.
  • Providing 24/7 electrical support to shift engineering teams for reactive and proactive engineering work.
  • Conducting root cause analysis on underperforming assets and managing related actions.
  • Creating and maintaining a technical resource library for use by other engineering teams.
  • Owning and maintaining preventative and planned maintenance schedules.
  • Ensuring excellent communication within the engineering department and other functions.
  • Adhering to company and site health and safety rules and guidance.

Knowledge, Skills and Experience:

To excel in this role, you should possess:

  • Proficiency in fault finding in complex electrical systems.
  • Familiarity with safety circuits and components.
  • Recognised apprenticeship or formal qualifications.
  • Capability in safe isolation and proving dead.
  • Proficiency in reading electrical drawings.
  • Strong electrical knowledge and practical skills.
