At Clarus Education, we are working with an FE College who are seeking to appoint a FE English Lecturer, based at the Uxbridge Campus.

We are seeking to appoint a full time or part-time Lecturers to deliver GCSE and Functional Skills English within our cross-College provision, primarily to vocational learners aged 16-18, with a growing provision of part-time adult learners.

This is a challenging but exciting and rewarding area of the College and you would play a key role in supporting our vocational learners with their development and to help them progress onto higher courses or the workplace. You would join a team of skilled teachers with a wealth of experience and knowledge, who are pro-active in sharing best practice with the team in order to engage and enthuse resit learners.

You will preferably possess a degree in English or a related subject, with experience of teaching or tutoring English GCSE and/or Functional Skills, and have the ability to engage and enthuse 16- to 18-year-olds from a variety of vocational disciplines.

Person Specification:

*A degree in English or related subject (or a minimum of Level 3 qualification plus proven successful experience of teaching GCSE English for at least 2 years) – essential
*An advanced level teaching qualification recognised by the FE sector (e.g. DET, PGCE) ** or willing to work towards a Level 5 teaching qualification, supported by the College
*Must have experience of successful teaching or tutoring GCSE and/or Functional Skills English
*Experience of working in Further Education
*Have an understanding of the exam requirements for GCSE/Functional skills
*Able to demonstrate a high standard of teaching and student achievement
*Experience of organising and implementing quality systems and procedures
*
The ability to engage and inspire vocationallearners aged 16-18
