Are you a creative and practical individual with a passion for design and the arts? We are seeking a proactive and skilled Design Technology/Art Technician to join a forward-thinking secondary school in Uxbridge (Hillingdon)as soon as possible.

About the Role:

As a DT/Art Technician, you will provide vital technical support to the Design & Technology and Art departments, ensuring that students and teachers have the resources, materials, and safe working environment needed to deliver engaging and hands-on lessons.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Prepare, maintain and organise tools, materials and equipment for practical lessons in DT and Art.

  • Support students and teachers during practical sessions, offering technical assistance when required.

  • Ensure all machinery, tools and resources are safe, clean and well-maintained.

  • Order and manage stock, including art supplies, timber, adhesives, and other materials.

  • Assist in the display of students' artwork and DT projects around the school.

  • Maintain compliance with health and safety regulations at all times.

Requirements:
  • Relevant qualifications or experience in Art, Design Technology, or a related field.

  • Practical knowledge of tools, machinery, and workshop safety (experience with laser cutters, 3D printers, or kiln use is a plus).

  • Strong organisational skills and the ability to work independently.

  • A flexible, can-do attitude and enthusiasm for supporting student creativity and learning.

  • An enhanced DBS check (or willingness to obtain one).
