A leading international aerospace and defence manufacturer is currently recruiting for a Commercial Contracts Officer to join their very successful and expanding business on a permanent fulltime basis.

The Commercial Contracts Officer will be reporting directly into the Contracts Manager, responsible for day-to-day contact management activities on specific multi-million pound contracts. The jobholder will also support the Contracts Manager on a number of existing contracts and proposals for new business and wider business on commercial topics.

Experience working in the Aerospace OR Defence industry is preferred and not essential, all industry backgrounds will be considered.

Location - Uxbridge, Middlesex

Type - Permanent

Salary - Up to C.£40,000 (DOE) + Benefits

The key roles and responsibilities of the Commercial Contracts Officer role and not be limited to:

  • Commercial point of contact for existing Defence contracts
  • Understand the impact of changes to existing contractual terms and conditions and lead programme teams in ensuring such change is accounted for in priced proposals
  • Ensure that any contractual requirements within contract changes which require flow-down to suppliers are made by supply chain colleagues
  • Support the contracts representatives in preparing contract review approval documentation
  • Support contract negotiations with customers
  • Strong account management to understand the needs of the customer whilst protecting the commercial and regulatory requirements of the company

Key skills and experience required for Commercial Contracts Officer role and not limited to:

  • Proven experience within a Commercial and/or Contract orientated role
  • Eligibility to gain UK SC Clearance
  • Working knowledge of contracts and standard contracting terms for supply of goods and services
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and spoken
