My client, a well-established manufacturing company, seek to appoint a Manufacturing Manager for their site near Wakefield. On offer is an excellent financial package and the opportunity of progression within a large manufacturing organisation. Internal promotion is common and has led to this role.

Manufacturing Manager - Role & Responsibilities - Continuous Improvement Manager, Production Engineering Manager, Operations Manager

 - Lead a team of over 150 to deliver on factory production plan. Particular focus on production and warehouse
 - Regular contact/supervision with a team of experienced shift production managers. Assess strengths and weaknesses of team members and coach accordingly. Design and implement training and development plans for each team member
 - Lead smaller multidisciplinary project teams to focus on continuous improvement. Sideways management of production line, quality and maintenance staff
 - Knowledge of make versus buy methodology. Evaluate cost benefit of outsourcing / bringing in-house stages of the manufacturing process
 - Ensure adherence to HSE & HR procedures

Manufacturing Manager - Skills & Abilities - Continuous Improvement Manager, Production Engineering Manager, Operations Manager

 - Of graduate calibre with a minimum 5 years within a manufacturing business
 - Experience with day-to-day management of a team of over 100 indirect reports
 - Experience leading multidisciplinary project teams. Working knowledge of quality, maintenance and design functions of a major business
 - Knowledge of value stream mapping / lean flow projects to improve manufacturing operations
 - Computer literate, problem solver, a good communicator, with man management experience
