We’re working with a long-established manufacturing business in the Normanton area of Wakefield to recruit an Assistant Accountant.If you are an Accounts Assistant with both finance and payroll experience and looking to take the next step, this role offers the opportunity to broaden your skills across the full finance function in a supportive and fast-paced SME environment. It is ideal for someone studying AAT who enjoys a varied role and wants to develop towards management accounts.The Role Includes
  • Managing the sales ledger, raising invoices, allocating payments, issuing statements and resolving queries
  • Chasing overdue debts in line with agreed terms
  • Processing the monthly payroll including related reports and pension uploads
  • Posting cashbook entries and journals
  • Completing bank reconciliations in multiple currencies
  • Managing purchase ledger close-off and preparing GRNI journals
  • Producing monthly stock reporting
  • Posting journals and contributing to the monthly management accounts
We Are Looking For 
  • Previous experience covering both finance and payroll
  • Experience in an SME or mid-sized business with exposure to a broad range of tasks
  • Strong Excel skills and familiarity with accounting software, Sage Payroll experience is an advantage
Salary is £28,000 to £32,000 plus benefits including enhanced pension matched to 5%, 26 days holiday plus bank holidays, early finish Fridays, death in service and additional perks.IPS Finance has 45 years’ experience recruiting for the Yorkshire accountancy market.
