Planning Manager

£35,000 - £38,000

Wakefield

Hybrid – 4 days in the office, 1 day home based

8.30am – 5pm

My client, an established and successful company based in Wakefield are recruiting a Planning Manager to join their busy team.

Your Role

You’ll coordinate and work collaboratively with both your direct team members and external business stakeholders to monitor, plan and manage inventory levels to deliver the business requirements.

Analysis and optimisation of stock levels to achieve the highest service to customers whilst minimising inventory build-up, slow movers and obsolescence. Run the ERP purchase ordering process for the site, through effective communication, further develop excellent relationships with our external and intercompany supply base.

Evolve this process working with the Group Logistics Director. Monitor closely site supply chain and supplier performance, delivering prompt resolution of immediate direct issues and effective escalation. as necessary, of more complex supplier/supply matters.

Your Day-to-Day Duties

·Monitor stock levels to ensure optimal stock levels. Raise POs with suppliers of products for all brands as necessary. Maintain accurate record keeping from purchase to order, to any changes to delivery dates as well as tight budgetary control. Communicate effectively with suppliers, chasing goods, resolving queries and expediting orders to meet business demand planning objectives

·Determine any looming inventory issues due to slow movement or potential discontinuation to ensure financial risk to the business as well as customer dissatisfaction is minimised through well managed stock outages, reductions or ultimately discontinuations

·Work closely with Managers on the scale up and system set up for new products

·Maintain high levels of effective liaison with Warehouse and all internal departments to facilitate smooth progress of order delivery to meet customer expectations and business objectives

·Keep Finance receive all necessary invoices appropriately matched and that customer services are regularly updated with stock level data/back in stock information

·Organise and select appropriate method of freight carriers

·Manage the database (One Office ERP system) ensuring new products are created correctly, modify existing products where required

·Work cooperatively with others and respond positively to requests for help and support

Experience and Skills Required

Planning/Inventory Management – Experience supervising within a Procurement and Planning department, managing inventory management, inventory clearance, write off as well as PO creation and logistics planning in a busy environment managing a high sku count

Overseas Suppliers – Experience inplacement and communication with overseas suppliers through to delivery, exp in goods inwards and outwards.

People Management – Experience supervising within a very small team to ensure team members maximise their potential including workflow management, point of escalation and relevant appropriate timely coaching

Commitment - Demonstrates commitment to company goals and values and Demonstrates interest in learning the business. Brings new ideas and approaches to the department

Quality Orientation – ensures that all aspects of work are completed on time to highest attention to detail and standards. Develops expertise in the concerned tasks.

Customer Focus – consistently shows a clear understanding of the suppliers/customer needs and requirements, is passionate about providing a high-quality service to internal and external customers

Team Work – works cooperatively with others, responds positively to requests for help and support. Is open minded and honest in dealing with others

Technical - MS Office (knowledge of Excel and Word to advance level) – ERP (experience of working with business product management systems)

Organisation – proven track record of effective organisation, dealing with multiple tasks concurrently. Effectively manages a demanding workload
