A 'Good' rated Special Needs School in Wakefield is looking for a caring and experienced Youth Support Worker to join their team. The school caters for children and young people from 4 to 18 years with Autism, Learning Disabilities and Communication Impairments.The school is looking for a full-time (Monday to Friday) Youth Support Worker to start as soon as possible until the end of the academic year and beyond - part time positions are also available.As a Youth Support Worker, your responsibilities will include:

* Building strong rapport with the pupils in your care to help them feel comfortable and relaxed.* To ensure child care plans are followed accurately so the needs and requirements of each child are met.* To help run exciting and stimulating activities to aid the pupils' sensory skills and development.* To work alongside other support staff and assist with behaviour management where needed.* To support pupils with personal care if required.

To qualify as a Youth Support Worker, experience working with children and young people with learning disabilities is required to demonstrate your knowledge of how to support young people with special needs.
