Do you have proven experience in an accounts payable focused role? Want to work in a collaborative environment, playing a key part in the finance team? Would you be confident resolving complex queries and investigating discrepancies? Please read on if so!

Robertson Bell are partnering with this charity to lead on their search for a permanent Accounts Payable Officer. Reporting into the Finance Manager you will join a close-knit team and be tasked with processing invoices, purchase orders and staff expenses.

Duties for this position will include:

  • Ensure timely and accurate payments to suppliers in accordance with agreed terms.
  • Collaborate with suppliers to address and resolve any queries or issues promptly.
  • Import and accurately post daily bank transactions across all accounts.
  • Prepare monthly bank reconciliations and seek appropriate approvals.
  • Generate and review daily cash reports to monitor cash flow effectively.
  • Manage supplier information, including setting up and updating details such as bank accounts.
  • Process and dispatch purchase orders to suppliers promptly and accurately.
  • Obtain necessary approvals and input supplier invoices into our accounting software system.
  • Administer online expense approval software and handle staff expenses processing efficiently.
  • Provide cross-functional support by covering colleagues’ duties when needed and maintain a comprehensive understanding of all finance systems.

This permanent Accounts Payable Officer will be based at the organisations head office a fifteen-minute drive from Croydon and will benefit from two days of home working per week. The successful candidate will:

  • Have experience working in a finance team, focusing on accounts payable tasks.
  • Be an effective communicator who proactively engages with colleagues.
  • Have strong numeracy skills with a high level of comfort in handling numerical data.
  • Be proficient in MS Office applications, specifically Excel and Word.
